Corn Product Standards

All corn is USDA #2 quality. This means that it contains less than 5% damaged and foreign material, is at least 54 lbs/bu, and has a moisture content of less than 15.5%.

All corn is tested for Mycotoxins. Limits of acceptance include:

  • Fumonisin: Must not exceed 7.5 ppb (0.0075 ppm)

  • Aflatoxins: Must not exceed 20 ppb (0.02 ppm)

  • DON (Vomitoxin): Must not exceed 5ppm (5,000 ppb)

  • T-2: Must not exceed 100ppb (0.1 ppm)

  • Zearalenone: Must not exceed 500 ppb

Soybean Product Standards

All soybeans are USDA #2 Organic. Majestic buys clean, organic, USDA #2 soybeans. Each delivery is graded and tested for moisture,test weight, and foreign material. Majestic will potentially deny or discount loads if the sample does not meet our product standards.

Moisture: Must not exceed 13.5%. Moisture negatively affects the extrusion process. During production, temperature is monitored to ensure trypsin inhibitors are neutralized resulting in less residual urease, which can increase the pH of the Organic Soybean Meal.

Test Weight: Not less than 52 lb/bu. Test weight decreases as the grain deteriorates. The higher the test weight the higher the quality. Sample will be tested and potential dockage for test weight lower than the ideal 54 lb/bu.

Foreign material: Must not exceed 15%. Excessive foreign material can lower the protein of the final product, and overall isn’t meant to process through our equipment. Majestic will grade the sample and dock a percentage of the gross bushels in loads with excessive foreign material. We recognize the USDA standard allowance of 2%.

Organic Soybean Meal

Majestic sells high-protein organic soybean meal. The quality of the meal is a direct reflection of the quality of the bean. Samples are taken and tested daily to ensure pH is within standard range and protein percentage is suitable..

Urease Activity: Must not exceed pH 0.5 rise

Protein: Not less than 43%

Crude Fat: Not less than 6.0%

Crude Fiber: Not less than 5.0%

Organic Soybean Oil

Expeller-pressed crude organic soybean oil is refined through a decanter to remove solids, resulting in improved clarity and product flow.

Samples & Testing

Both Majestic locations are equipped with a Foss testing instrument. Each inbound and outbound product is sampled and tested.

The Foss machine determines moisture, protein, and test weight of grain. If the sample is accepted, additional grading for foreign matter and toxins will be done.

Our lab is fully equipped, including GMO testing with our Envirologix Quick Scan Tool, wet chem testing, and NIR. If an irregularity is found, we reject the shipment to ensure we bring our customers a quality product without compromise.

Samples of incoming ingredients and outgoing finished feeds are retained for the life of the flock.

Industry Terms & Definitions

Organic

Organic is the only label regulated by the USDA. This term indicates that the product was grown and produced through approved methods. When buying organic soybeans and corn, Majestic ensures our growers are certified organic with an accredited certifying agent. Through their certification process, it was determined their seed, land, and practices to grow were to the standard of the USDA.

Majestic Milling is certified organic by EcoCert USA. We use these same standards when producing an organic product with certified organic grains. All ingredients must be certified organic and the practices while handling, processing, and transporting the product must be to the standard of USDA organic. ABF

Majestic Milling’s feed is antibiotic-free; 100% vegetarian, no drugs or antibiotics.

Non-GMO

Grain and ingredients purchased by Majestic Milling for Non-GMO feed must be verified that the GMO tolerance is 0.09% or less. Strict clean-out and handling practices lend to Majestic’s compliance with the Non-GMO Project.
